You get a greater wealth of glass in a conservatory than you do in an orangery as the latter predominantly consists of brickwork. But you can include a sizeable glazed roof in orangery designs, as highlighted here. It takes over the orangery in an impressive manner, a bit like the patio doors and various windows present within it.
The combination of these three key areas has made the orangery the primary room in the house, somewhere the whole family goes to read together and play with their favourite games and toys.
Knowing there would be occasions when the kids would be keen to get outside, the householder requested the installation of patio doors. These patio doors have accompanying side panels and enable the orangery to be opened out in the garden, ideal for when the kids want to compete in a game of swing ball.
On the rare occasions when the orangery is empty, you can only marvel at the attention to detail that has gone into every element of the design internally and how much glazing encompasses the design. The view of the orangery from the outside is equally impressive and that again can be credited to the roof and windows at the side of the structure. This extension undoubtedly raises the bar in orangery design.
